This award acknowledges outstanding qualities such as character, achievement, personal growth, and a willingness to promote the positive aspects of competition.

**All Contestants will receive an official Miss Gainesville T-shirt, a copy of Pageantry Magazine and a gift certificate to Allure Boutique.
Miss Gainesville’s Outstanding Teen Eligibility Requirements
**If we have more than 10 contestants, we will also crown Miss Alachua County’s Outstanding Teen**
Both winners will advance to the Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen Pageant
held in St. Petersburg, Florida July 5-12, 2009
- Must be at least thirteen (13) years of age and at least in the 8th grade on the first day of the Local competition
- May not have graduated from high school before the MAOT 2009 National Finals (held August 2009), except for 16 year-olds who graduated early
- May not turn eighteen (18) years of age on or before August 31, 2009
- Be a United States citizen
- Be a Florida resident. This pageant is open state-wide.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
- Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Gainesville Scholarship Pageant, Inc.
- Must not be eligible to compete in the “Miss” age division of the Miss America Competition.
- Must represent Gainesville at the Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in St. Petersburg, FL July 5-12, 2009 and attend a mandatory Orientation weekend for the state pageant (dates TBA).
- Must complete application, turn in required paperwork and sponsorship fee of $200
Outstanding Teen Scoring
Contestants will be scored in the following categories:
Private Interview (6min.)- 35%
Talent -35%
Evening Gown- 15%
Sportswear- 10%
On-stage question- 5%
Interviews will take place in the morning on Saturday, March 7th. The Outstanding Teen Pageant will begin at 6:00pm the same evening. Contestants will be required to stay at the Cofrin Theatre for the entire day. No parents, coaches or hair/makeup artists will be allowed in the theatre. We will have the hair dressers from Lineless Salon backstage to help all day.
Outstanding Teen Required Documents
- 6 headshot photos: 5x7 size (same pose/head shots) in color or black and white.
* Please also submit your headshot on disk or electronically by email if you have it, in addition to the 6 printed photos. - 6 copies of your fact sheet/resume
- 6 copies of your platform statement
- Talent request form. Talent cannot be longer than 2 minutes in length
- Onstage introduction form
- 2 copies of talent music: (CDs only)
- Proof of Florida residence
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Sealed copy of your last report card/official transcripts
- Ad page for program book
- $25 donation to Children’s Miracle Network (optional)
